The Dubai Tourist Police Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation (CID) has recently organised a workshop to raise the awareness of 107 employees of the FIVE Palm Jumeirah Hotel on smart police services, security procedures, and public safety measures.

The event was organised in cooperation with the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, the Crime Scene Investigation Department at the General Department of Forensic Sciences and Criminology, the Positive Spirit Council, the Department of Economy and Tourism, the General Directorate of Civil Defense-Dubai, and the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.

Brigadier Khalfan Al Jallaf, the Director of the Dubai Tourist Police Department, emphasized that the specialized workshop is part of a series of workshops organized by the Dubai Police in collaboration with strategic partners. He added that these workshops are being conducted under the guidance of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and with the oversight of His Excellency Major General Expert Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commandant for Criminal Investigation Affairs, and Brigadier Harib Al Shamsi, Acting Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigations. Brig. The workshop covered the high-quality and convenient services offered by the Smart Police Stations (SPS), which provide accessible assistance to the public 24/7, without human intervention. Furthermore, participants gained knowledge about the risks associated with drugs. They were informed about the Lost & Found system available at Dubai hotels, as well as the effective methods of communication and engagement with law enforcement agencies.

The participants were also conducted on cybercrime, including strategies for dealing with electronic breaches and extortion and utilizing the e-crime platform to report such incidents. Additionally, participants were informed about the appropriate procedures for contacting the police in case of emergencies (via 999) and non-emergency situations (via 901).

The Department of Economy and Tourism team presented an overview of how to engage with tourists in Dubai and highlighted the premium services offered to professionals in the tourism sector. Additionally, the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services team carried out a practical field scenario demonstrating the proper response to an emergency situation, specifically addressing the case of a hotel guest experiencing a sudden heart attack.
