Dubai Opera in partnership with M Premiere proudly opens its 2025–2026 season with La Bohème, Puccini’s legendary tale of young artists, dreamers, and lovers navigating Bohemian lifestyle in 19th-century Paris. Presented by the world-renowned Hungarian State Opera, this production is a crown jewel of operatic history — timeless, romantic, and profoundly moving.

Set against the wintry streets of the Latin Quarter, La Bohème* begins with a burnt-out candle and a misplaced key. From this modest beginning unfolds one of opera’s greatest love stories — between the poet Rodolfo and the delicate seamstress Mimì — rendered with heart-wrenching music and unforgettable arias.

But this is no ordinary staging.

A Living Legacy

Directed by Kálmán Nádasdy with set design by Gusztáv Oláh, this historic production has remained a cornerstone of the Hungarian State Opera’s repertoire since 1937. With nearly 900 performances over almost nine decades, it is a living monument to the enduring power of storytelling through music and stagecraft.
