While the Triple Data Encryption Standard is considered to be fit for purpose in the short term, the Advanced Encryption Standard is generally considered to be a faster, more efficient and more secure encryption standard and therefore a more suitable medium to long term option.
The ACCC has granted authorisation for 8 years.
