stc group, the region’s leading digital enabler, today announced significant progress in its nationwide fiber optic and 5G network expansion. These latest milestones directly support Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation journey and Vision 2030 ambitions by enhancing national connectivity, improving customer experience, and strengthening digital infrastructure.

Accelerating Fiber Connectivity Nationwide

In line with its 2025 targets, stc has completed a large-scale fiber optic rollout delivering significant enhancements to fixed broadband coverage, network resilience and customer experience: 

· 125,000 FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) connections are now operational, bringing high-speed internet to more homes nationwide.

·Over 1,100 km of fiber optic cables have been deployed across multiple network segments, including long-distance backbone routes, residential access, junction areas, and leased networks.

· 616 Business connectivity requests fulfilled, connecting government institutions, enterprises, Hyperscale Data Centers and Wholesale clients with end-to-end fiber infrastructure.

· 513 mobile sites and 53 in-building (IBS) sites integrated on fiber backhauling, strengthening network reliability and enhancing indoor and outdoor mobile coverage.

These achievements further reinforce stc group’s role in building the Kingdom’s digital backbone, empowering communities and organizations nationwide with ultra-fast, resilient, and scalable connectivity that unlocks new opportunities for future growth.

Expanding 5G Access to New Communities

Complementing its fiber deployment, stc has launched a national project to bring 5G coverage to more than 2,000 new areas, with a strategic focus on less densely populated regions. This expansion strengthens mobile network capacity, elevates quality of digital experiences, and meets the increasing demand for advanced communication technologies, solidifying Saudi Arabia’s position as a global leader in 5G adoption.
