The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) expects September 2022 total industry volume (TIV) to stay flattish month-on-month (MoM) as the ongoing semiconductor chip and component shortages are weighing down the domestic automotive industry supply chain.

TIV in August rose 36 per cent MoM to 66,614 units, driven by stronger sales from both the passenger vehicle (PV) and commercial vehicle (CV) segments, which grew by 37.1 per cent and 28.5 per cent, respectively....
